HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

I got up at 4:00 a.m. this morning because I had "slept out."  I am very glad that I did because I watched John Stossel's program "What's Great About America?" which points out how lucky we all are to live in America.  The program pointed out all of our "good points" while revealing our "warts" at the same time.  Our good points far outweigh our bad points.  He compared us with other countries that do not have the same freedoms in life that we enjoy, such as "freedom of speech."  As opinionated as I am, I would have trouble living in another country.  I am proud to be an American.

A MAN WITH COMMON SENSE!

After Stossel's program, I watched an interview with Govenor Chris Christie of New Jersey.  I have not done any research on this man but he seems to have a lot of common sense.  Some people who know him better than I do may disagree.  New Jersey is in big financial trouble, like the rest of the country, but he does not believe in "spending" their way out of debt.  He believes in "cutting expenses" to reduce the deficit.  He has had an uphill battle in his approach to governing New Jersey and it will be interesting to see the outcome of his actions.

Our governments should be run like our households.  Recently, it became very apparent, due to the ever increasing cost of living, that my "outgo" was putting a severe strain on my "income."  I had to consider where I could cut down on my outgo; to evaluate the areas that were "reducible" such as power, water, eating out, and unnecessary purchases.  I never once considered piling on more debt to a credit card to "spend" my way out of my dilemma.

LET'S ENJOY THE DAY AND REMEMBER WHY WE ARE AT LIBERTY TO DO SO!
