IS PAULA DEEN A HONKY CRACKER?

I am white, and I cannot tell you how many times I have heard white people being referred to as a cracker or a honky by a black person.  I have NEVER heard of any black person being fired for calling anyone these names.

I am a retired registered nurse who is a writer, but I also substitute teach in local schools to keep myself current on what is REALLY going on in the world...and not what I "think" is going on.  You can get a good "birds-eye" view of where our culture is headed by observing kid's behavior in a classroom.

Recently, a statement was made in a classroom that had absolutely nothing to do with the black race.  A boy immediately started spinning the statement around to make it a racist remark.  I confronted him with, "Why does everything have to be about race.  You guys keep it alive and you won't let racism die."

I run into more racism against me, being white, by some people referring to me as a cracker or honky, than I have ever seen from a white person toward blacks, even though I was raised and live in the south.  Like everybody else who is impacted by this over-the-top political correctness, I go overboard in the classroom trying to make sure I do not offend a black student.

However, I find that many of them have "little antennas" that are on constant alert to attack someone if there is anything said that vaguely resembles a racist remark.

To me, this firing of Paula Deen only shows how the far-left bullies are now running our world.  She admits to making "past" remarks that are inappropriate.  If she made a remark recently, that might be a different situation, but if we were all held responsible for our past mistakes, we would all lose our jobs.

I challenge everyone reading this, who agrees with me, to stand up against the bullies who are beginning to change the culture in America for the worse, not the better.  We have already lost some of our "freedom of speech" by political correctness, but it won't be long before we are like some other countries where we cannot speak our mind without fearing punishment.  Paula Deen is just a start in that direction.
