August 10, 2009 - IT WAS TRUE IN 1931 AND IT IS STILL TRUE TODAY

I received this as an email and feel that it is a good one to post:

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for---- that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

  1. I just read the news article on the death of Eunice Kennedy Shriver and in it was the info about her founding the "Special Olympics" and that the Kennedy family was taught by her mother Rose Kennedy that "to whom much is given, much is required". We can't all be Rockefellers or Kennedys and for the less fortunate it is required that the affluent give more. I do not mean we should enable slackards, but the helpless and unfortunate must be ministered to with resources provided by those that will not be motivated by christian principles. Ruth
