July 14, 2009 - COMMENT RECEIVED PER EMAIL

I am going to post an email received by a friend on July 14, 2009 who has expressed her opinion regarding the articles that I have posted on my site. As I have said, everyone has a right to their own opinion and her remarks should be carefully considered and weighed out against our own beliefs. That's how we learn.

First, I must respond: By the way, I would never ask or require that anyone read my blog daily, let alone post a comment to it. I am also not in love with my computer but blog everyday simply to "do what I can" to enlighten/inform/persuade Americans to get involved in politics and not just "take things lying down." I hope I am proven wrong, but I feel as if we are heading for the biggest economic disaster that the readers of this blog has experienced since the "great depression." I wasn't alive during that time, but I have been told that it was a "rough" period of time for everyone.

NOW, ON TO MY FRIEND'S EMAIL "COMMENT" TO MY RAMBLINGS ON THIS SITE:

Hi Audrey, Where shall I begin? In regard to abortion, I believe in a patient's right to privacy & this is an issue to be resolved between a woman & her doctor. I believe we should be able to own guns. The only place appropriate for assault rifles would be in battle. How people get them outside the military is the issue. Sarah Palin is probably a good person, but I don't think she was ready for the national stage. As for comedy-they don't spare anyone-why should she be the exception ? Pelosi is not one of my favorite people, but I don't think she is running the whole show. For one thing, she spends much more time on her appearance than what is going on in the country. I do think there should be term limits for the congress & they should have to resign if they are too ill to carry out their duties. I also think there should be an age limit or some kind of limit for the supreme court justices & that they should also have to resign if they are too ill to serve. Our economy is in a mess & this mess has been in the making for quite some time-it can't be blamed entirely on any one administration. The expert economist say that they are not absolutely sure of any solution. They are trying what they hope will work. Yes we are running up a huge deficit & yes we will have to pay it back someday. The key is to get Americans back to work-then there will naturally be more revenue to take care of the debt. The cost of health care as well as wages are the reasons so many jobs have gone to other countries. Health care is an integral part of this whole deboggle-health care must be reformed. I don't see how anyone who has worked in health care could think our system is ok. I say let's give Obama & his administration a chance. The American people have spoken - it is our democracy at work-it has worked for us for many years now & has gotten us through many other crises-let's have faith that it will work for us now. Once we have voted, we have little control over these issues. We can pray for God to guide those who are in control. Perhaps these remarks will shed a little light on my political views. Please don't expect me to comment on a daily basis. I'm just not that much in love with my computer. With Love & Prayers, Your Friend

Now, back to me: I certainly appreciate Brenda's response. See...we all have a different "perspective" on what is going on. Sometimes we are miles apart and sometimes we only have slight differences.

I believe that our viewpoints are shaped by what we see and hear. If we watch/read liberal or conservative slanting news channels/newpapers/magazine/blogs, then we tend to agree with them. Also, I don't think some people are taking this crisis as serious as they should with the feeling, "It will turn out okay, it always does."

See July 15th blog about my personal experience regarding this matter. No...it doesn't always turn out okay.
